Hoping to find a formula for predicting success, the digital, virtual and artificial intelligence revolution provides a tentative answer to the quo vadis of drug research. When altruistic and economic goals are aligned, focus can increasingly be set on rare diseases and vulnerable populations which however creates new ethical challenges.“
